Job Description
As an Account Executive, you will provide customers guidance and leadership in the evaluation of Business Continuity solutions. The position requires the ability to execute small projects independently and to implement high-quality technical solutions based on VMware's server and desktop products.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for business development activities, strategy development, forecast reporting, and account management
- Identify, build and nurture strong, lasting relationships with new and existing clients to win new opportunities.
- Develop approach for and generate leads in key focus areas consistent with the practice strategy in the region. Lead generation may be supported by front-end sales person.
- Develop sales strategies to identify and influence potential customers to generate new business.
- Support the growth of multiple existing customer accounts within the region.
- Work closely with extended teams to identify joint business opportunities to increase customer value and drive revenue growth in your territory.
- Maintain current knowledge of the entire Double-Take and VMware product line.
- Help to document best practices in developing and deploying virtualization solutions.
- Background must individual contributor experience, such as client exec or account owner in a highly competitive environment
- Prior experience of at least 8 years in technology related sales including specific professional services sales to management/executives of Fortune 1000 and mid-market companies
- Verifiable track record of meeting or exceeding annual quotas, Presidents Club, etc.
- Experience as the primary driver in closing sales of $100K to more than $1M+
- History of establishing, expanding and closing service engagements including some that were considered long term, those that involved fixed price components and those that utilized remote delivery capabilities
- Competitive industry knowledge in IT, SAP, Business Intelligence, and/or Utilities
- Contacts within the territory, including industry (client) firms
- Ability to accurately forecast with background details supporting your assessment
- Ability to navigate an opportunity through a sales cycle end to end
- Deep experience in making compelling presentations to an audience of diverse business stakeholders
- Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel to client sites and industry events, as needed
- Ability to travel between 50-80 percent of the time
- B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent technical training
